Changelog

Every change to the payload is listed here, newest first. The payload itself is described in the Payload Reference.

2026-09-28

Added actor — a new container, sent on every event: who placed the order (type: visitor, staff, automation, bot), which one (name, id), where (surface: website, app, admin, pos, marketplace, crm) and from which place (location). Additive — nothing else changes. See actor.

How changes work

Additive changes ship without notice. A new key, or a new value in an existing list, can appear at any time. Read the payload tolerantly: ignore keys you do not know, and treat an unfamiliar value — a new channel, for instance — as data rather than as an error.

Removals and shape changes are announced. A key you rely on will not disappear or change type without us telling you first, and without a transition period in which both the old and the new form arrive.

The exception is properties. The free-form containers — event.properties, user.properties, products[].properties — carry whatever the shop sends. Keys there may come and go without notice, because the decision is the shop's, not ours.
